Smt. Parminder Chopra, is the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of PFC. She has over 37 years of varied experience in Power and Financial Sectors. As the Chairman and Managing Director, she is responsible for driving the organization's growth trajectory and further strengthening its position as the premier lender financing India's power & other infrastructure sectors. Under her leadership, PFC has emerged as the principal financier of clean energy projects.
She is also guiding PFC’s efforts in supporting the implementation of key power sector initiatives of the Government of India including Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) and Late Payment Surcharge (LPS) rules. Under her leadership, PFC achieved its highest ever Net Profit and highest Net worth. Other strategic initiatives undertaken during her tenure include the establishment of PFC Infra Finance IFSC Limited (PIFIL) — the first finance company in IFSC dedicated to power and infrastructure lending, creation of a dedicated ESG unit to institutionalise sustainability practices and disclosures, and the strengthening of global financing partnerships, by securing loan tie ups with Japanese and Italian sovereign owned entities, i.e. Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) and SACE, Italian export credit agency.
Prior to joining PFC, Smt. Chopra has served in power sector majors like NHPC Limited and Power Grid Corporation of India Limited. She has leveraged the rare blend of experience in Power and Financial Sectors to lead PFC’s transformational journey.
Smt. Chopra holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Delhi University and is a qualified Cost and Management Accountant. She also has a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management. She has attended programmes on Risk Management and Global Management in world renowned institutes i.e. Harvard University, USA and European School of Management.
