Venu has been leading Hitachi Energy in India since its formation in 2019, overseeing its listing on both Indian stock exchanges. Under his leadership, the team has ex-ecuted several nation-building projects that make India’s energy system more sustainable, flexible and se-cure.
In June 2025, he was appointed as MD of Hitachi India, in addition to his role as MD and CEO, India and South Asia, Hitachi Energy. As the MD of Hitachi India, he is focusing on expanding Hitachi's legacy in India in line with Hitachi Group's new management plan-Inspire 2027.
As the head of Region South Asia since 2016, Venu is leading ~ 11000 passionate professionals. He is also Chairman of Hitachi Energy Technology Services Pvt Ltd and as Board Member and Chairman of Hitachi Energy operations in Australia, Indonesia and Singapore.
He is the voice of energy industry at forums by G20 Summit, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Con-ference of the Electric Power Supply Industry (CEPSI) Singapore, Association of the Electricity Supply Industry of East Asia and the Western Pacific (AESIEAP) and more. He is the recipient of several felicitations and awards. He also received the CEO of the Year award by The Machinist in 2024. He was Chairman at Karnataka chapter for Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in 2024-25 and is serving as Chairman of the Task Force on Energy Transition at the CII Southern Region.
An Electrical Engineering from the NIT Warangal, he re-ceived the Honorary Doctorate in Philosophy (PhD) from the NIT Warangal. He has also been accredited by Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, Indian School of Business-Hyderabad, and International Insti-tute of Management Development-Switzerland.
