Strengthening India’s Power Supply Chain

The Vendor Development Programme at Bharat Electricity Summit (BES) is a focused industry initiative designed to strengthen India’s domestic manufacturing and supplier ecosystem across the power value chain. Anchored in the Make in India vision, the programme brings together power utilities, EPCs, OEMs, policymakers and technology providers to accelerate localisation, capability enhancement and long-term partnerships.

Structured across three dedicated sessions—Power Transmission, Power Generation and Power Distribution—the programme addresses sector-specific procurement needs, indigenisation opportunities and emerging technology requirements. Each session provides vendors with direct insights into utility expectations, upcoming projects, qualification pathways and compliance standards shaping India’s power infrastructure expansion.

The Vendor Development Programme serves as a practical platform for Indian manufacturers and solution providers to engage with key buyers, understand future demand, and position themselves within India’s rapidly evolving electricity ecosystem—supporting resilient supply chains, cost competitiveness and sustainable growth.

Make in India for Power Transmission

Led by POWERGRID, this session focuses on strengthening India’s domestic manufacturing and supplier ecosystem for the power transmission sector. Aligned with the Make in India initiative, it highlights indigenisation priorities, emerging transmission technologies and upcoming procurement requirements—enabling vendors to align with India’s expanding, renewable-ready transmission network.

Led by NTPC and NHPC, this session focuses on strengthening domestic manufacturing and supplier capabilities across thermal, hydro and renewable power generation. Aligned with the Make in India initiative, it highlights indigenisation priorities, upcoming project requirements and technology needs, enabling vendors to align with India’s expanding and diversified generation mix.
