An experimental chemist by training, Akanksha's research at CEEW strives to make India's clean energy transition responsible and inclusive. It involves enabling a circular economy in RE sectors, estimating the employment co-benefits of RE technologies, and developing solutions to make large-scale RE deployment responsible. She has also led some of The Council’s work on techno-economic analysis of energy storage-integrated solar rooftop systems for discoms and consumers.
Before joining The Council, she was a postdoctoral researcher at ESICB, Kyoto University, developing new photocatalytic routes for organic synthesis. Akanksha holds a Human and Environmental Studies doctorate from Kyoto University, Japan. She is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology (Hyderabad), where she completed her MSc in Chemistry.
She is an avid table tennis player and an ardent Agatha Christie fan.
