Mr. Anil Kumar Meena is presently working as General Manager in Central Transmission Utility of India Ltd. (a wholly owned subsidiary of Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd), a “Maharatna” Public Sector Enterprise under Ministry of Power, Government of India.
He has graduated from prestigious Indian Institute of Technology Delhi [IIT Delhi] in Electrical Engineering. He has over 24 years of experience in Transmission System planning in India for reliable & secure supply of power to STUs and integration of conventional generation projects as well as RE generation projects to the ISTS network.
He has been closely associated with planning of ‘National Grid’ of India. He has been involved in various other system studies & introduction of New Technologies in ISTS like TCSC, +800kV HVDC, STATCOM / SVCs, Synchronous Condenser for improvement of reliability, security and quality of power supply through the ISTS grid. He has been instrumental in identifying & synchronising the SR Grid & NEW Grid through Raichur – Solapur 765kV link which ultimately led to the formation of ‘One Nation – One Grid – One Frequency – One Market’. He is involved in various studies and analysis of Cross-border transmission interconnections with Nepal, Sri Lanka etc. He is presently involved in transmission system planning Southern Region and in implementation of CERC GNA Regulations, 2022 for grant of Connectivity to generators and GNA to STUs / bulk consumers through ISTS Network.
