Bhawna works as a Programme Lead with the Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW). She leads distributed renewables initiatives in the Energy Transition team at The Council. Her work primarily focuses on accelerating the deployment of DRE by engaging at the national and state level, developing innovative business models, understanding evolving consumer perceptions towards clean technologies, and conducting techno-economic feasibility assessments of DRE technologies.
Prior to joining The Council, she worked as a Senior Research Associate with the Alliance for an Energy-Efficient Economy (AEEE). She primarily focused on energy efficiency measures and clean mobility solutions, including e-mobility, leading the GVR initiative and end-use data challenges. She worked as a Senior Officer (Economist) with Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services (IL&FS) Ltd., contributing to various infrastructure verticals, especially energy. Before joining IL&FS, she worked as Research Associate with The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), New Delhi, focusing on resource efficiency, trade, natural resources management, and socio-economic impact assessment.
She holds a post-graduate degree in Economics from Ambedkar University, Delhi and a graduate degree in Economics (Hons) from the University of Delhi.
