Mohit Kumar Gupta has over 15 years of experience in the Indian power sector, primarily at the National Load Despatch Centre (NLDC). He has played an instrumental role in India’s energy transition toward renewable and clean energy sources. He was part of the core team involved in the design and implementation of the Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) mechanism in India during its formative years. Until 2025, he served as the national-level First Time Charging (FTC) Coordinator and was actively involved in facilitating RE integration with the national grid.
Shri. Mohit possesses extensive experience in ancillary services, system reliability, post-dispatch analysis, and system restoration (black start) activities. Currently, he is responsible for Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) transmission pricing, regulatory affairs, and the development of Green Open Access Registry (GOAR) in India.
Shri. Mohit is an Electrical Engineer from IIT (BHU), Varanasi, and holds an MBA in Finance from the IM (FMS), BHU. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Energy Transition and Electricity Markets at the School of Public Policy, IIT Delhi.
