Sumedh Agarwal is a distinguished leader in the global energy sector with two decades of experience spearheading utility modernization and net-zero technology deployment. His expertise bridges the gap between policy and practice, having delivered critical initiatives across South Asia, the Middle East, the Pacific, and North America.
Throughout his career, Sumedh has led high-stakes projects funded by multilateral organizations including The World Bank, ADB, and USAID. His work in smart grids, demand response, and integrated resource planning has been pivotal in advancing resilient, green electrical grids globally. Previously, he was recognized for engineering excellence at globally benchmarked utilities such as the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) and Tata Power-DDL.
Currently, as a Director at AEEE, Sumedh guides power utilities in developing demand flexibility programs aimed at decarbonization. A champion of capacity building, he has successfully upskilled over 6,000 government professionals across major Indian bodies, including the Indian Railways
and the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. He is an alumnus of BITS Pilani and a sought-after guest speaker at premier institutions like IIT Delhi and IIT Roorkee.
