Vikas Gaba is a Partner with KPMG in India, where he leads the Energy and Infrastructure practice within Business Consulting. In this role, he is responsible for driving strategy, growth and expansion, client relationships, and market positioning across KPMG in India’s energy portfolio, spanning oil and gas, power and renewables, fuels, and infrastructure transport. He also serves as the industry group leader for the Power and Utilities for KPMG in India, defining sector strategy and leading initiatives to strengthen the firm’s market presence.
With over 21 years of experience, Vikas has shaped and led complex, large-scale energy sector reform and transformation programmes across multiple geographies. His expertise includes policy and regulatory design, structural and market reforms, private sector investment frameworks, business strategy, operational and performance improvement, and institutional strengthening. He has advised a wide range of stakeholders, including national and sub-national governments, regulators, utilities, public and private sector enterprises, multilateral and bilateral agencies, as well as funders and investors.
Vikas brings a strong global perspective, having worked across multiple countries spanning India, South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and the United States. A regular speaker at leading global and Indian energy forums, he actively contributes to industry dialogue on power sector modernisation, smart grids, clean energy manufacturing, and advanced energy technologies.
